Ways to Expand Your Pizza Delivery Client Base

Posted on: 22 October 2021

The pizza delivery industry has always been one with lots of competition. As such, if you want to excel as a pizza delivery restaurant, you really need to remain focused on growing your client base. Here are some key ways you can expand your client base and grow your business.

Offer in-app payment.

If you don't already allow clients to pay when they order via your app, work on enabling this capability. It really streamlines things for customers. They can place their order and pay at the same time. If you think about when people order pizza to be delivered, it is often when they're busy or short on time. So, every few seconds you can save your customers makes your restaurant an even more attractive choice. If it's between your pizza restaurant with in-app payment and another that requires them to swipe their card at the door, you'll win a lot of busy, rushed customers.

Be prepared for late-night orders.

As the evening wears on, the number of pizza restaurants that are open often decreases. Many close at 10:00 or even earlier. If you can manage to stay open until midnight or later, you'll have plenty of business from those late-night clients with the munchies. Once you become their go-to pizza restaurant for late-night orders, they'll probably start ordering from you earlier in the day as well.

Celebrate some lesser-known holidays with discounts.

Most pizza restaurants offer discounts on big holidays such as Halloween and during popular sports tournaments. Of course, you need to offer these discounts as well to keep up with your competition. But if you really want to expand your client base, try offering discounts on lesser-known holidays, too. For example, you could offer a discount on April Fools Day or on Groundhog Day. Since not every pizza restaurant will be running specials then, you'll stand out because you are offering specials.

Try to make the specials creative and holiday-themed to really attract attention. For example, on April Fools Day, you could hand out a free empty box with each pizza so that the person that picks it up can go home and try to convince their family members they ate all the pizza — or bought an empty box!

Sometimes, to boost your client base as a pizza restaurant, you really need to think outside the box. Use one or more of the strategies at your pizzeria.
