Please Your House Guests With Delicious Meals

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, you may be planning to entertain friends and family members who will stay at your home. From ideas on how to make your meals easy for you to serving croissants in different ways, here are some ideas on how to please your house guests with delicious meals.

Making your meals easy ones means that you will have more time to enjoy spending time with your company. After all, working all the time to prepare and serve meals can take some of the fun out of being the hostess.

Buy disposable table ware in holiday designs. You can make and freeze meals ahead of time. When it comes time to serve the croissants, plan meals your guests can serve themselves. After, invite your guests to help you with preparation and cleanup.

Think of basic things that can be served in a variety of ways. For example, your house guests will more than likely love croissants, so think of different ways that you can present them.

Serve croissants for breakfast with a variety of spreads. The following day, use croissants for making sandwiches.

Croissants will be a perfect accompaniment for soups and salads or you can keep them out for in-between meal snacks.

Consider fun ways that your house guests can help you to prepare and serve meals. Being helpers may even make them feel more at home. Here are some ways that your guests can help:

  • Make a list of things that need to be done and ask our guests to pick one or two.
  • If there are children in the group, ask them to do things like fill water glasses.
  • Have fun aprons available for you and your guests to use.
  • Ask house guests to wrap silverware in napkins before meals will be served.
  • Think of asking a guest to help you prepare things like picnic baskets.

As you plan meals for your house guests, think about writing down details which will make your shopping easier for you. For example, if you are having soup for one of your meals, on your shopping list you might add things that you'll offer as toppings. So, for your soup meal, write down things like croutons, shredded cheese and sour cream. Then when you're ready to serve the soup you won't have the realization that you don't have the accompaniments you want. And, if you're buying ice cream, write down things like ice cream toppings, nuts and whipped cream.
